Ashington 1st XV 52pts Winlaton Vulvcans 1st XV 0pts
Winlaton started badly, struggling in the scrum from the start and after only 5 mins, Ashington scored a push over try from a five metre scrum. The try was then converted. Winlaton struggled for possession with their scrum under constant pressure and the line out not performing much better. After 15 mins Ashington scored a penalty. Winlaton MoM Luke Mitchell narrowly missed with an attempt of his own. 5 mins before half time Ashington scored another converted try.

The second half started as the first had finished, Winlaton still struggling to win any possession which allowed Ashington to gain a string of good field positions. This allowed Ashington to add a further five tries, two being converted, and two penalties.
FT 52 – 0 MoM Luke Mitchell
Two notable debuts. Steve Veart made his 1st team debut coming on as sub when Dave Hunter went in as hooker for Gary Allison to make his first appearance as a prop. Gary replaced Les Cash who went off with a rib injury
